We are excited to share that our BioEcoOcean project lead team, Lina Mtwana Nordlund, Nina Lepola, and Florian Lüskow from Uppsala University, attended the Marine Research Days 2024 conference in Kalmar, Sweden. The conference focused on current aspects of research, management and environmental monitoring in marine systems. The theme of the 2024 conference was “Building bridges across marine disciplines”.
On the last day of the conference, Lina Mtwana Nordlund gave a talk "Co-Creating a Blueprint for Integrated Ocean Science: Encouraging collaboration for a sustainable future". The BioEcoOcean project is co-creating a Blueprint for Integrated Ocean Science (BIOS), a guiding framework to advance collaborative and sustainable ocean observation. BIOS seeks to transform biological and ecosystem monitoring, supporting science-based conservation and informed policy. For more information on the BIOS, please visit the page: https://bioecoocean.org/actions/blueprint-living-lab/
We also invite you to explore the poster co-authored by Florian Lüskow and Lina Mtwana Nordlund, titled "New Ways Are Urgently Needed for Gelatinous Zooplankton Monitoring in the Baltic Sea," which is accessible in the BioEcoOcean Zenodo repository: https://zenodo.org/records/14202516
