European Marine Citizen Science Week 2026 is a shared European initiative that brings together scientists, organisations, and citizens to document marine and coastal biodiversity.
For one week, participants contribute observations through local activities and field observations, helping to improve knowledge of marine life across Europe. By making high-quality marine data openly available, these local observations can support research and contribute to a better understanding of marine biodiversity worldwide.
The event is coordinated through the EU-funded projects BioEcoOcean and Measuring What Matters, together with participating organisations and local partners across Europe.
