Data Product Development for Modeling Benthic Carbon Processes in the Arctic

The workshop aims to bring together experts in benthic ecology, marine carbon modeling and Arctic research to jointly establish a roadmap for interoperable and comprehensive benthic carbon data products needed to better understand and predict carbon cycling in the Arctic - a region increasingly threatened by climate change and environmental shifts. To this end, the workshop will set the following objectives:

• Discuss current and potential methodologies and needs for utilizing benthic data in environmental models,
• Review and establish clear criteria for developing data products according to the needs of both modellers and observers,
• Recommend guidelines for optimized sampling designs based on the agreed data product requirements.
