OCEANIS Workshop at the Ocean Sciences Meeting in Glasgow

A successful OCEANIS workshop gathered over forty attendees during the Ocean Sciences Meeting in Glasgow.

An interactive workshop - Advancing biology and ecosystem ocean observations through collaboration and integration - was led by our lead team from Uppsala University: Lina Mtwana Nordlund, Said Hashim, and Nina Lepola. During this collaborative session, attendees could look for answers to the initial questions: How can we better observe and understand marine life across scales and regions? How can collaboration overcome fragmentation and accelerate progress?

The objective was to invite the global ocean community to co-create the OCEANIS, which is an operational framework for organising how ocean initiatives link knowledge generation to action. Besides learning about this framework, its aims and ideas, participants could test the OCEANIS Quick Start Guide, which translates the framework into a practical, facilitated workshop approach.
